RS Components today announced a new global agreement with PRECI-DIP; the Swiss manufacturers of precision interconnect components.

RS will represent the PRECI-DIP range by adding over 850 new products to its portfolio, including the pioneering and much acclaimed spring-loaded connectors, PCB connectors, DIL sockets, PGA/BGA/PLCC sockets and screw-machined contacts.

Roman Heil, CEO, PRECI-DIP explained: “RS is the first port-of-call for most engineers, online and via its catalogue. Our being there will add substantial marketing leverage as well as exceptionally strong sales opportunities in key European markets. PRECI-DIP has evolved from the manufacturing of contacts and has now established a reputation as a technology leader in the concept of custom-designed solutions. A presence in the RS product portfolio is a significant step in developing our market presence.”

He added, “We are delighted that RS recognizes the quality and precision of our products by adding PRECI-DIP into its linecard. To our customers, the breadth of PRECI-DIP products in the RS portfolio means that they have guaranteed availability direct-from-stock in any market”.

Chris Page, General Manager, Electronics at RS added, “PRECI-DIP epitomizes Swiss precision and we are very pleased to be able to showcase the complete product range in production-ready packaging format, giving engineers package type options suitable for both design and prototyping.”

RS customers selecting the production-ready industry-standard packaging option benefit from the ability to order flexible quantities of PRECI-DIP products, packaged ready for automated insertion in industry-stand production environments.

RS already has a strong portfolio of IC socket products, and the PRECI-DIP portfolio will more than treble the existing range of turned contacts, DIL and DIP.
