Avnet Silica has added IDT to it’s supplier portfolio. The deal builds on the recent acquisition of IDT by Renesas, an established supplier partner of Avnet Silica.

IDT’s line card of products feature leading-edge RF devices for communication systems, wireless power charging technologies, sensors for industrial automation applications, and high-performance clock and timing ICs for processor designs.

The agreement enhances Avnet Silica’s offering in key markets such as building and home automation, as well as communications and automotive.

Leading product areas offered by IDT include environmental sensors designed to measure, monitor and sense smart devices in industrial applications. IDT also offers automotive sensors and sensor signal conditioners featuring low-power and high-accuracy that meet the ISO 26262 standard and other crucial automotive application requirements for EMC and reliability.

IDT is also a major player in the field of silicon clock and timing devices, and its portfolio can be used in a broad array of electronic applications. Another key area is wireless charging, especially for integration in mobile devices and transmitters – a market sector where IDT is a clear industry leader.

“This extension of our portfolio will enable us to provide even better and more complete solutions to our customers,” said Mario Orlandi (pictured), President at Avnet Silica. “Offering the combined Renesas portfolio comprised of analog, power and embedded processing will aid our customers to develop new classes of products in many fast-growing markets, especially for demanding applications in industrial automation and automotive.”
