Andy King has been named as the new President of Arrow Electronics global components business. He replaces Eric Schuck. King was previously head of Arrow’s EMEA business, where he succeeded Schuck.
King (pictured) will report to Andy Bryant, Arrow’s Chief Operating Officer.
“Andy’s track record of leadership and his extensive industry experience make him the exemplary executive to lead our global components organization and increase the growth of our businesses,” Bryant said.
King is a 30-year veteran of the distribution business. He worked for Arrow previously as Vice President of Sales Development for Arrow Electronics Europe before joining Premier Farnell where he was President of Premier Farnell Europe and Global Head of the Electronic Design Engineering Segment.
In its recent third quarter statement Arrow said that global components sales of $3.69bn declined 1 percent year over year. Americas components sales declined 4 percent year over year. Europe components sales grew 5 percent year over year. Asia-Pacific components sales declined 2 percent year over year. Core components sales in Asia declined 5 percent year over year.
Components generate about 65 percent of Arrow’s sales.
