Farnell element14 has signed up to distribute Amphenol’s new range of Black Zinc Nickel plated MIL-DTL-38999 connectors in Europe.
This MIL-DTL-38999 Series III, Class Z QPL RoHS compliant connector family meets all the environmental & electrical performances of the previous industry preferred non-compliant cadmium plating.
The conductive and non-reflective black finish is approved for 500hrs salt spray endurance and is fast becoming the new defence industry standard.

Black Zinc Nickel plating is used for applications in highly demanding environments including Next Generation Harsh Environment Vehicles, Electric Drive vehicles, Aerospace, Communications Equipment, Automotive, Power generation, and Metering Equipment.
Key Features are shell-to-shell continuity less than 2.5mOhm initially, a temperature range of -65° to +175°C in accordance with Mil-DTL-38999, compatibility – no significant galvanic reaction with cadmium, zinc cobalt or electroless nickel plated parts and availability deployed on standard connector ranges such as Mil- DTL-38999, Mil-C-26482, Rhino Power.
