Agreements with AVX and Rubycon give Farnell customers exclusive access to the latest capacitor advances

far201a_lresFarnell, the leading multi-channel, high service distributor supporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals across Europe and Asia Pacific, has strengthened its reputation as source for the latest innovations in passive component technology following new agreements with AVX and Rubycon – two leading companies in the passive component sector.

In the first of the agreements AVX has granted Farnell a 12 month European distribution exclusive on five of its newest capacitor ranges that encompass over 270 new part numbers. The products included are the leaded AR SkycapTM series, RH leaded ceramics, TRJ tantalum chip capacitors, NPV CorecapTM surface mount tantalum multianode capacitors and TAW tantalum fuse capacitors. The new devices that utilise the latest advances in materials and dielectrics will help give Farnell’s EDE customers a technology advantage in their new product designs.

The second agreement sees Farnell chosen by Rubycon to be their exclusive launch partner for the new PMLCAP series of polymer film chip capacitors. The range uses new technology to help achieve revolutionary compactness plus excellent frequency and temperature characteristics. Uses for the PMLCAP series exist in applications such as DC/DC Converters, audio circuits, voltage regulator modules and bypass circuits.

Farnell is now adding approximately 700 new products every week plus new technologies and new manufacturers to give its customers the best possible choice for their new designs. Special pages detailing the additions can be quickly accessed with a single click from customers’ own Internet browsers by using the recently introduced downloadable Farnell toolbar.

Commenting on the agreements, Claire Doyle, European Director of Supplier Management Farnell, said: “These important announcements underline Farnell’s position as a leading source for the latest component technology. In selecting Farnell, AVX and Rubycon have recognised our strong technical competence that helps us support the introduction of the newest component developments to our EDE customer base.”
