Conrad Electronic has strengthened its management team as it continues its push into B2B distribution. Holger Ruban has been appointed to Director Business Supplies for all European activities of the Conrad Group.

The new Business Supplies area of Conrad Electronic focuses on B2B customers in the engineering sector. In addition to the internationalisation of its services, the company is heavily focused on continually broadening the range of new products it offers in the components segment.

Ruban has worked in various management positions within B2B distribution. Most recently he served as Regional Director for Central & Eastern Europe, for Farnell.

“Conrad is represented in 17 countries with own subsidiaries and distribution partners and is known for its top quality service and strong product range. The ever-growing portfolio ranges from the smallest electronic components to production tools as well as the latest consumer electronics, computer and communications technology products. It is a compelling and comprehensive range of products from leading manufacturers and competent exclusive brands. Our goal is to be the ‘one-stop-shop’ for our customers,” said Holger Ruban.

Conrad has also named Shawn Silberhorn as Supplier Business Development Manager. In the role he will establish partnerships between suppliers and manufacturers and implement marketing and sales programmes. He was Corporate Account Manager EMEA, at Texas Instruments, and brings a strong industry networking background and technical expertise to his new role.

Completing the strategic realignment of B2B marketing is the appointment of Melanie Lauer to Head of European Marketing for Business Supplies. She will be responsible for the realignment of the entire European marketing strategy. Previously she served as Global Marketing Manager at Cadsoft, the specialised CAD software subsidiary of Premier Farnell and was instrumental in its internationalisation and strategic realignment.
