It is all change on the Steering Board at DMASS. Long-term chairman Georg Steinberger, of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA is stepping down after 22 years at the helm.
Members elected Hermann W. Reiter of Digi-Key to Chairman and Dietmar Jaeger from TDK Electronics and Frank Wolinski of STMicroelectronics to Vice Chairmen, overseeing strategic, administrative and operational activities of the well-renowned components distribution organisation, going forward.
Hermann Reiter commented on his new role: “I am honoured to help guiding DMASS forward to enable our members and the industry to better understand trends and opportunities that this exciting technology of electronic components provides. We have reached a level of coverage and depth of market understanding that is unprecedented in the global components industry.”
Reiter and his colleagues thanked Steinberger for his long-term leadership: “Georg is not only an industry veteran of 34 years of experience, for the last 22 years he committed himself to make DMASS the profound source of data for its members across Europe. Without him driving statistical improvements and expansions as well as creating regular press releases and talking points for journalists, manufacturers, distributors, customers and also other industry bodies, DMASS would not be the same.”
Looking back at the development of the Association, Steinberger added: “To understand where you are and where you want to go as a technology company, reliable data is among the most important aspects of your journey planning. My fellow member colleagues and I have followed this simple truth and are happy that DMASS has developed a global reputation. Any country and any product category we report on is critical and I would encourage other manufacturers and distributors to join and benefit from our aggregated source of insight.”
DMASS was founded in 1989 and collates detailed distribution market data on semiconductors, interconnect, passive and electromechanical components on a quarterly basis by country and product groups.
