Mark Shanley, Global Business Manager at distributor Astute Electronics will present a seminar on detecting counterfeit electronics at DSEI 2017. He will discuss Counterfeit Electronics Mitigation and Detection for Defence Primes at 14.30 on Wednesday 13 September, in the DSEI Global Theatre.
He will discuss how best practices and quality standards which have been developed to prevent counterfeits entering the supply chain have evolved to keep up with the growing demands of global production and sourcing and managing obsolescence, as well as describing the value of expert partners and authorised distribution.
“It’s an honour to deliver this important seminar at DSEI. The rising danger of counterfeit components is a real and very serious problem, especially against the prevailing market conditions where supply chains are compromised and challenged,” said Shanley. “As part of the Ministry of Defence’s Counterfeit Avoidance Working Group (CAWG), we can share what best practice looks like.
He continues: “With a volatile electronics market place, the chances of suspect parts entering the supply chain have risen drastically: can you ensure you have no weaknesses in your supply chain? If there are gaps, then find out how to secure these at the seminar.”
This session is suitable for anybody tasked with addressing the issue of counterfeit electronic parts including supply chain managers, procurement officers, component engineers, procurement policy makers and anybody involved in de-risking the supply chain.
