Astute Electronics has announced a new global distribution deal with innovative UK wafer fab, Transys Electronics.

Astute will become a franchised distributor and design-in partner for the full range of Transys products including CMOS, IGBT, MOSFET’s, Power and small signal transistors, Thyristor, Triac, rectifiers, schottky diodes and transient suppression packaged within discrete’s and power modules along with custom semiconductor solutions.
Welcoming Transys Electronics into the line-card, Stewart Burns, Passive & Discrete Division Manager at Astute commented, “Transys is a respected semiconductor partner with extensive design and manufacturing ability within both analogue and digital ICs. They operate a full-capability semiconductor wafer fab, packaging and assembly plant with the capacity to create bespoke solutions. As a key design-in partner for Transys, we’ll be looking to promote these semiconductor engineering capabilities to our aerospace and defence client base.”

The formal agreement extends a successful partnership between the two companies, who have already worked together on Mil-Spec products.
Transys Electronics was founded in 1982 and has remained a family-owned semiconductor manufacturer. It maintains a 5000 square feet wafer fab at its Birmingham headquarters.
