Electrocomponents says its sales growth was around 2% for the four months to January. An interim statement shows international sales grew by 4% and UK sales declined by around 2%. Excluding Raspberry Pi sales the UK business grew by 1%. Within International, Continental Europe grew by 5%.
North America grew by 3% and Asia Pacific grew by 2%. However US sales took a hammering from poor weather in December and January.
Investment in website functionality continues to bear fruit as eCommerce sales grew faster than the Group as a whole. Sales growth of around 5% saw eCommerce comprising around 59% of Group sales during the period.
Ian Mason, Group Chief Executive, commented: “Group sales growth during the four-month period was around 2%, compared to 1% sales growth in the first half. All regions have delivered improving sales trends as compared to the first half with the exception of North America, which was significantly impacted by adverse weather conditions during December and January.”
