The world’s first USB powered soldering iron from MegaPower is now being sold by Premier Farnell.

The soldering iron, which is designed for quick repairs in the field and the lab for fine pitch SMT components, is powered by the USB port of a PC or laptop or alternatively with a 9v battery.

It achieves 480°C in 20 seconds and has an extremely low 5W power consumption.
The iron costs £9.90. Features include: Professional grade soldering tip; Ultra bright white LED light illuminates working area; Safety on/off switch; Energy efficient and low cost; and Protective cap.
