Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation provides direct access to more than 28,750 3-D models and more than 60,000 datasheets for Tyco Electronics (TE) products from Digi-Key’s Supplier Marketing Center (SMC) designed for Tyco Electronics, www.digikey.com/tycoelectronics. The Tyco Electronics SMC contains a ‘Tools and Support’ section in which more than 45 product selection guides are available to help engineers choose products to meet various application requirements. Strengthens UK connector support team; boosts Tyco efforts

TTI, Inc., the global distributor of passive, interconnect, relay & switch and discrete components, has announced that it has signed a deal to acquire the assets of Flightspares Electronics Ltd, the UK-based specialist connector distributor.

Flightspares has been established in the UK and Irish markets for many years and has a strong reputation in the industrial, rail, transportation, marine and defence sectors. The .312″ series FASTON single-position receptacle housing is designed to protect the .312″ series FASTON receptacles. Major increase includes expanded MATE-N-LOK and AMPMODU products, 300 new relays and new LED PCB-mount lighting connectors

RS Components, the leading distributor of electronic, electro-mechanical and industrial products, has announced the introduction of over 4,100 products from Tyco Electronics. This increase creates a full Tyco Electronics range of over 18,000 products across multiple technologies, held entirely in-stock and available at user-defined quantities in the industry-standard packaging formats specified for design, prototype and small batch production runs.

The AMP Mini-CT (1.5mm pitch) and AMP CT (2.0mm pitch) series connectors include crimp and insulation displacement connection (IDC) housings. The right angle and vertical headers are available in thru-hole and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board (PCB) termination styles and include thru-board, free hanging, and dual row configurations. Applicable wire gauges range from 22-30 AWG. The AMP CT series connectors consist of shrouded and unshrouded headers. Both series have locating posts, kinked legs, and solder pads to help provide proper alignment and retention to the PCB.

The HPI (1.0mm to 2.5mm pitch) series includes crimp housings that mate with either right angle or vertical headers. Headers are available in either thru-hole or SMT termination styles. The 2.0mm HPI series offers a latching mechanism for those applications that require additional mating retention. Applicable wire gauges range from 24-32 AWG.

Extended RN-73 series offers higher temperature capabilities and is ten times more accurate than standard range

The award-winning RN73 series resistors from Tyco Electronics is now available from TTI, Inc., the global distributor of passive connector, electromechanical and discrete components. Andy Kerr, TTI’s Product & Supplier Marketing Director, Europe, Discretes & Passives, said: “At TTI we pride ourselves on stocking the very best passives, discretes and connectors on the market, and we are now delighted to be able to offer our customers the RN73 series of ultra high stability precision chip resistors from Tyco Electronics. This range has been extended to offer resistance tolerances down to 0.01%, making the devices up to 10 times more accurate than previously available models.”

Designed for telecommunication, industrial and military applications, RN73 series resistors are available in a choice of packages, from 1206 down to 0402 case size. Based on nichrome thin film technology, the devices are produced with three sputtered layers of resistive metal film. This enables very stable high-frequency performance to be achieved. Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) values down to 10ppm/degC, and even 5ppm/degC, are available over a wide value range (5R1 – 470K) in the E96 and E24 value grids.

Now, for applications requiring higher power, the RP73 series resistors offer increased power dissipation, higher temperature capabilities (up to +155degC) and increased operating voltages (200V DC) compared to the standard RN73 series.

Accurate and uniform physical dimensions facilitate automatic placement of the RN73 devices. Pack quantities are very flexible, ranging from a small volume 250 piece 7 inch reels up to higher volume 1000, 5000 and 10000 piece tape on reels. Together with a short standard manufacturing lead time of only four weeks this makes RN73 series devices the flexible fixed precision SMD chip resistor.
