Premier Farnell has received the Gold Award for Best Global Performance FY 2019 from TDK. The award recognises excellence in key areas such as business performance, inventory management and operations.
Two years on from its acquisition by Avnet and Premier Farnell is flourishing. In 2018 the distributor delivered global revenue of $1.5bn, up 11.1% year over year and posted consecutive year on year growth each quarter at a global and regional level (EMEA, North America & Asia-Pacific). It exited the year with Q4 sales growth of 13% year over year.
Premier Farnell has named industry veteran Rob Rospedzihowski as Vice President for Sales, EMEA reporting to Chris Breslin, President, Premier Farnell. Rospedzihowski is responsible for Farnell element14’s sales across EMEA and takes on the role with immediate effect.
Graham McBeth has retired from his position as President of Premier Farnell and he has been replaced by Chris Breslin, who was previously senior vice president for global products. He was announced as McBeth’s replacement at Avnet’s Investor Day event in New York City. Breslin will report to Pete Bartolotta, chief transformation officer at Avnet.
Nordic Semiconductor has joined the Premier Farnell global linecard following an agreement between the two companies. The deal gives the distributor access to ultra-low power (ULP) wireless chips that can run for a long time from small power sources as the future of electronics goes wireless and portable due to consumer demand for ever greater levels of freedom and flexibility.
