Wind River announced a distribution agreement with Anacom Eletrônica Ltda, a leading electronics products distributor in South America. Under the agreement, Anacom will market, distribute and provide sales and product support for Wind River’s full portfolio of software and related hardware and other products to customers in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Founded in 1988, Anacom is a well-established distributor with a deep customer base throughout Latin America. With an emphasis on strong customer service and support, Anacom has office locations throughout South America and sells to the majority of countries in South America and Caribbean. The addition of Anacom to the Wind River ecosystem extends Wind River’s reach into this region, providing embedded software and expertise to meet the needs of local organizations across a variety of industries and help bring their products to market faster
Home to more than 440 million people, Central and South America had a gross domestic product (GDP) of $3.6 trillion in 2010, projected to rise to $4.8 trillion by 2015. The region’s economy grew by approximately 6 percent in 2010.1 Additionally, according to a report by the International Monetary Fund, worldwide economic recovery has been driven by emerging countries not only in Asia but from numerous South American countries as well.2 Wind River makes an ongoing effort to identify areas for growth, actively working with leading international companies to continue to expand into emerging areas.
