Avnet Abacus has named Joanne Ward as the new General Sales Manager in the UK and Ireland.
Ward has almost three decades of experience in the electronics industry, during which time she has played a key part in driving Avnet Abacus’ growth strategy across the UK and Ireland.
Ward began her career as an internal sales advisor at National Semiconductor (now Texas Instruments), based in the UK.
Four years later, in 1995, she moved to Abacus (now Avnet Abacus) where she has since held diverse roles.
Her initial appointment was in marketing, where she successfully performed a variety of supplier management roles of increasing seniority, developing a specialism and expertise in IP&E products to support customers and suppliers across a number of market sectors.
In 2009, Ward moved into full-time frontline sales and from here progressed through the business from field sales, sales management and, immediately prior to this latest appointment, to the role of CEM sales manager for the UK and Ireland.
