Link Microtek is now offering the industry’s smallest 700W Ka-band TWTA (travelling wave tube amplifier), which is designed and manufactured by US company MITEQ. The MT3300-700Ka unit covers commercial and military Ka-Band frequencies of 28-30GHz for the latest generation of satellites and is housed in the same compact, field-proven package as existing lower-power models in the MT3300 series. Measuring only 24.4 x 30.0 x 52.1cm, the new TWTA features a rugged construction that makes it well suited to the rigours of outdoor use in satellite uplink applications. It has an operating temperature range of -40 to 60degC. The TWTA can be configured for both remote and local control, while redundancy can be achieved through the use of 1:1, 1:2 or phase combined systems. Available amplifier options include an L-Band RF input, switchover control, internal linearizer and internal Ethernet interface.
