Farnell element14 has strengthened its European business team. It has named Richard Slee as Business President of Sales and Marketing in Europe.
Reporting to Gert Labuschagne, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Slee joins from TVS Logistics. In his role as European CEO, he grew the business, developing new markets at the $6 billion privately owned Indian company.
He has many years experience in thye technology business. His experience includes VP and European Sales Director at Motorola, and President Rest of World / UK at PACE, where he helped it to become the market leader for set top boxes.
Slee also has considerable experience in the distribution sector and in the mobile phone industry. Both Dextra, which he grew to become the largest company of its type in Europe, and Phones International, owned by the ‘dragon’ Peter Jones, expanded significantly under Richard’s leadership.
Commenting on his appointment Richard said: “I’m delighted to be joining Farnell element14 at what is an exciting time for the organisation. My first impressions of the business have been really positive and the commitment and enthusiasm from everybody I have met has been really evident.
