Rapid Electronics has taken a significant leap into the world of industrial IoT technology by signing a major distribution partnership with Siretta, a leading UK manufacturer of wireless machine to machine (M2M) solutions.
Siretta’s products are widely used in automation and monitoring processes within a diverse range of industries, from transportation to energy, in applications such as flood monitoring, automatic meter reading, vending machines, parking and ticketing, remote alarm panels, passenger information systems, transport communications and fuel distribution.
Rapid Electronics will stock over 100 lines by the Berkshire-based company, including modems, signal strength analysers, RF antennas and environmental sensors.
Ian McFadyen, Group Channel Director of Siretta, said: “I am delighted that Rapid Electronics will be distributing such a comprehensive range of Siretta products. Rapid Electronics is now firmly established as a major broadline electronics distributor in the UK and we believe that our wireless product solutions will be of huge interest to their extensive and diverse customer base.”
Janice Ratcliffe, E-Mech product manager at Rapid Electronics, responded: “M2M communications and the Internet of Things is a fast growing area of electronics and I am excited to be introducing Siretta’s quikCONNECT modems, antennas, analysers and sensors to the Rapid range. In terms of functionality, design, versatility and value, Siretta products have an excellent reputation within the M2M market, and I look forward to developing the product range further.”
Wireless quikCONNECT modems are increasingly essential components in IoT applications, allowing for M2M communication and facilitating automated processes. Siretta’s quikCONNECT modems perform strongly across all generations of mobile networks, and Rapid Electronics is introducing products from right across the range, from the entry level ZEST (GPRS connectivity) to the Ethernet-enabled ZEUS (4G coverage).
