Rutronik is planning to increase its penetration of the global automotive market. It has formed an Automotive Business Unit that will offer automotive customers selected components from chosen manufacturers as well as specific technical and commercial support on a global level.
It will be headed by Uwe Rahn (pictured) who was previously FAE Head of Central Europe.
The new unit will work closely with specially selected manufacturers and their specific, latest-generation automotive components.
It will assist defined focus customers with the current challenges in the multifaceted automotive applications of e-mobility, car-to-car communication, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, lighting, etc., as well as with the constantly increasing safety requirements as per ISO 26262, which cover on-board electrical systems among others.
Uwe Rahn reports directly to Markus Krieg, Managing Director Marketing. Rahn is supported by Lutz Henckel, Senior Manager ABU, former Sales Manager at Rutronik. Henckel has gained over 20 years of experience in a number of positions at OEMs and distributors. The remainder of the ABU team is composed of Rutronik employees with many years of automotive business experience and the associated profound knowledge. They are supplied with information on new innovations and products very early on in specially oriented training sessions hosted by the defined ABU partners.
“Due to the ever shorter technological advances, the manufacturers are working intensively on not getting left behind technologically”, explained Uwe Rahn. “The automotive market has always been heavily contested, but due to increased market concentration and the steady advance of globalization, the competitive situation has become even fiercer.
On top of that we see the immensely increasing electronic percentage of vehicles, which poses many companies completely new challenges. Together with the selected partners, we will provide our customers with a focused offer and global support at eye level to support them to develop innovative and trendsetting solutions.”
