Browser plug-in gives ‘right-click’ instant access to 300,000 products
RS Components (RS) the world’s largest high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products and the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), has launched RS Partsfinder, a simple, free browser plug-in that enables instant access to the searchable RS database of over 300,000 products from any web page. Users simply highlight a keyword, stock number or manufacturer’s part number and then ‘right-click’ their mouse to access the RS database without the need to copy and paste or manually open other web sites. RS Partsfinder then makes it easy to compare prices, check stock and review component specifications.
RS Partsfinder is available to UK engineers and buyers, and can be installed with one click at rswww.com/partsfinder, where 1-minute video demonstrations of the tool are also available. Installation does not need any additional software and the tool can be uninstalled if necessary through the standard browser menus. There are versions of RS Partsfinder for Internet Explorer 8.0 and above, and Firefox 3.5 and above.
