RS Components has signed a franchise deal with Silicon Labs. The agreement between the two companies is the formal seal of approval authorising RS to distribute Silicon Labs’ diverse portfolio of semiconductor products throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific.

RS holds inventory of more than 500 product variants from Silicon Labs in its global warehouses and, as a consequence of this agreement, has initiated the introduction of hundreds of additional part types over the course of the coming months. The partnership will result in greater choice and easier access to these industry-leading semiconductor components for customers of all disciplines, ranging from design engineers and purchasing professionals to hobbyists and educators.

“In seeking a high-service distribution partner for Europe and Asia, we identified RS as an innovative and energetic company that has a strong semiconductor offering and is continually reviewing and expanding its engineering support activities,” said Vaughan Price, vice president of sales EMEA at Silicon Labs. “RS brings significant time-to-market advantages to engineers through advanced e-commerce capabilities, intuitive free design tools and a same-day despatch guarantee.”

“This agreement with Silicon Labs is a significant boost for our range of high-performance semiconductor devices,” said Jonathan Boxall, Global Head of Semiconductors, RS Components. “The Silicon Labs portfolio is a rich and highly attractive mix of analogue and mixed-signal ICs that will provide engineering solutions for a wide variety of electronic designs across an extensive range of applications.”
