RS Components has agreed new distribution terms with ALPS. It will give customers easier access to the ALPS portfolio, streamline logistical connections and simplify handling of orders for large quantities in reels or tubes.

The agreement strengthens RS Components position as a source for the ALPS range, which includes low-profile tactile switches in a wide range of styles, sizes and ratings, as well as a large selection of pushbutton switches, joysticks, detector switches, potentiometers and rotary encoders.

At the signing of the contract in Japan, Kevin McCormack, Head of Product Inventory and Pricing – APAC at RS Components, said: “Partnering closely with ALPS now strengthens our ability to support customers’ projects from the earliest stages through to full production, whether on or offshore, worldwide. We expect to accelerate growth of our market share in switches, passives and sensors.”

Takashi Kimoto, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing for ALPS Electric, added: “We are delighted to sign a new agreement with RS Components and move forward to achieve even greater success in the future. RS has a powerful global infrastructure and depth of customer support that create an ideal platform for driving more ALPS devices into even more of the world’s best high-tech products.”

RS Components has recently introduced 138 lines of tactile switches, and will further increase the range with more than 200 additional lines before the end of June 2016.
