Richardson RFPD has extended its global distribution agreement with Sierra Wireless to cover connectivity.
The distributor can now provide worldwide customers with a fully-integrated solution from Sierra Wireless, including hardware, the AirVantage IoT cloud platform and managed connectivity.
This device-to-cloud offering enables businesses to vastly simplify the sourcing, management and administration of multi-region deployments for IoT/ M2M applications, including telematics, transportation, energy, smart cities, networking and other vertical markets.
Sierra Wireless’ device-to-cloud portfolio comprises all of the components necessary to connect products in the field and digitise any business.
The AirVantage IoT platform delivers connectivity/SIM/eUICC management, application enablement, operations management and arious cloud connectors for easy integration to enterprise back-end systems.
Sierra Wireless provides connectivity services based on its own mobile core network, connected directly or indirectly to most mobile GSM/3G/LTE networks across the globe. Patented SIM/eUICC technology enables customers to benefit from global connectivity with the highest possible service, availability and reliability.
In 2016, Richardson RFPD announced an expanded global franchise agreement built on the long-term collaboration between the two companies, as well as a mutual commitment to serve the emerging industrial IoT market.
Under the terms of the agreement, Richardson RFPD sells and supports a comprehensive portfolio of Sierra Wireless products, including 2G, 3G and 4G embedded cellular modules and modems.
