Richardson Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with Applied Power Systems, a manufacturer of high-power inverters, converters, AC controllers and custom power assemblies. The agreement aligns with both companies’ pursuits of supplying and supporting high performance products to meet key customer requirements.
“APS applies unique, high technology solutions in the design and manufacture of a broad array of power stacks,” said Greg Peloquin, Executive Vice President of Richardson Electronics’ Power & Microwave Technologies group. “We look forward to working with APS’ experienced engineering staff and introducing their full line of power stage products, complete testing capabilities and turnkey solutions to a wider range of customers around the world.”
Applied Power Systems (APS) has been a power electronics engineering and manufacturing company specialising in power conversion assemblies and thermal management of high power semiconductors since 1996.
It offers in-house design and modelling of inverter and converter assemblies, along with an extensive portfolio that includes driver boards for IGBTs, MOSFETS and SCRs with fiber optic interfaces; power stack products, including solid state switches for AC and DC applications, IGBTs, SCRs, rectifier assemblies, bridges, power converters and inverters, and bar clamps for disc-type semiconductors and thermal management products
“Richardson Electronics’ global presence means our products will be more accessible to key customers in countries beyond the U.S.,” said Jim Murphy, President of APS. “With Richardson Electronics’ ability to provide exceptional technical support, I fully expect that together we can enhance our capability to develop ideal solutions for our customers.”
