A raft of distributors are lined up to attend the RF and Wireless Design Forum on June 24, described by organisers Motiv8 Solutions as its “biggest event yet”.
Arrow Electronics, Avnet Embedded, Rutronik, Mouser Electronics, Alpha Micro Components, Codico and Outsource Electronics will all be on parade in the networking area adjacent to the conference room.
Joining them from the component suppliers’ camp will be Analog Devices, Linear Technology, Microchip and Coilcraft. Other companies booked to appear are DSP Group, Adaptive Modules, Gemalco, Oracle, MultiTech Systems, Axsem, Scott Cables and IED.
The Forum Plenary Presentations kick off with a real humdinger. Dr Caroline Simcock, Global Compliance and Approvals at Dyson will speak on Implementing an Ultra-Low Power Wireless Mesh for Sensor Networks. She will say that wireless sensor networks are one of the fastest growing sectors for wireless communications today and look at how applications are driven by countless different market requirements. Therefore making a choice of specific implementation requires a clear understanding of what the key objectives are in terms of priorities at a system level and then defining a feature set to match those.
Axsem’s presentation will focus on ISM Radio for M2M / IOT applications looking at long range radio performance & low power consumption for low data bandwidth applications.
Unlocking the Embedded Intelligence within Gemalto M2M Cellular Modules will demonstrate that these modules can do far more than make voice calls and connect to the internet. This presentation explains how to unlock the full potential of your hardware by utilising the “on board” Java capabilities to create a faster to deploy, more scalable and ultimately more robust and reliable platform family.
Microchip and Analog Devices are also slated to appear in the plenary sessions and their topics will be revealed shortly.
In the afternoon the attention turns to a series of workshops hosted by MultiTech Systems will look at Managing Cellular Connectivity and Linear Technology will give a Practical Demonstration of live Dust Networks Solution . DSP Group will show DECT/ULE and how it can be applied to smart home devices while Gemalto has chosen Getting started with Java in an M2M environment as its topic. Analog Devices will present on Software Defined Radio.
The RF and Wireless Design Forum takes place on June 24 at the Williams F1 Conference Centre near Oxford. It is free to attend. For more information go to www.motiv8forums.com/2014-forums.html
