Arrow Electronics delivered record fourth quarter results posting revenues of $6.4bn up 4 per cent from $6.15bn in the previous year. Profits came in at 116.2m against $134.8m last year. Excluding certain items, including restructuring and integration costs, in the fourth quarter of 2013 and 2014, income would have been $184.4m.
Global components fourth-quarter sales of $3.59bn increased 4 per cent year over year. Sales, as adjusted, grew 5 per cent year over year. Americas components sales increased 4 per cent year over year. Europe components sales grew 1 per cent year over year and the region grew 8 per cent year over year on an as-adjusted basis. Components sales in the Asia-Pacific region increased 8 per cent year over year.
Global enterprise computing solutions fourth-quarter sales of $2.81bn grew 3 per cent year over year. Americas sales grew 9 per cent year over year. Europe sales declined 6 per cent year over year and the region declined 3 per cent year over year on an as-adjusted basis. Both Americas and Europe continued to experience strong growth in software and services.
Arrow’s net income for 2014 was $498m, compared with net income of $399.4m in 2013. Again excluding certain items in 2014 and 2013, net income would have been $593m in 2014, compared with net income of $519m in 2013.
2014 sales of $22.77bn increased 7 percent from sales of $21.36bn in 2013.
Full year 2014 global components sales were $14.3bn. Sales advanced 6% year-over-year, with growth in all 3 regions. Europe delivered sales growth of 6% year-over-year despite a challenging macro environment. The Americas region showed steady growth at 2%, and Asia continued its strong growth trend, advancing 11% and achieving another record year for sales.
Arrow says first quarter total sales will be between $4.9bn and $5.3bn, with global components sales between $3.35bn and $3.55bn, and global enterprise computing solutions sales between $1.55bn and $1.75bn.
