Premier Farnell announces global franchise agreement with NXP Semiconductors
Premier Farnell plc, the leading multi-channel, high service distributor supporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals globally, has signed a new global franchise agreement with NXP Semiconductors. The Group has plans in place to significantly strengthen the ex-stock product offering through Newark in the Americas, Farnell across Europe, India and Australia and through Premier Electronics and Farnell – Newark, in Asia. Products available will include discrete components, logic devices and ARM microcontrollers from NXP.
NXP Semiconductors, the independent company founded by Philips, is a global leader in providing semiconductor solutions for mobile and personal communications, home electronics (TV, Set-top box, PC TV), automotive and identification (NFC, RFID) applications. The 7,500 NXP engineers in 24 Research & Development centres worldwide ensure optimal research capabilities across a wide range of leading technologies including multimarket semiconductors such as ARM microcontrollers, interface products, power management components, small signal discretes and logic devices.
Premier Farnell continues to invest in and drive its own technical support programmes to ensure electronic design engineers globally receive the support, information and data on the latest technologies and products as quickly and effectively as they need to. This new global franchise agreement will make available the latest innovations from NXP with no minimum order quantities and with next-day delivery, supported by Premier Farnell’s regional technical support teams and by the Global Technology Centres. The GTC’s based in China and India offer customers globally web-based technical support to further simplify the process for designers seeking the optimum product and information for their applications.
