Mouser Electronics, Inc today is shifting into high gear with champion driver Tony Kanaan for the Firestone 550 IZOD IndyCar race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 9 where the renowned driver will race the No. 11 Mouser Electronics/GEICO/KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Firestone IndyCar.
“We saw Tony’s incredible driving skills with his third-place victory at last week’s Indy 500. We are thrilled to sponsor Tony here in our hometown,” says Larry Johannes, Mouser Electronics’ Vice President of Strategic Marketing. “Our partnership with KV Racing and Tony Kanaan embodies our continued effort to give our customers a speed-to-market advantage, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of this team effort.”
At Saturday’s race, Mouser will welcome one of its European customers, Michael Thalhammer and a guest, who won an expense-paid trip from Mouser to the Texas Motor Speedway IndyCar event after entering a trade show contest earlier this year at the Embedded World show in Germany. Thalhammer, a hardware developer at Dräxlmaier Group in Germany, also will receive a behind-the-scenes VIP tour of Mouser’s global headquarters in addition to tickets to the Saturday race.

In anticipation of the exciting race weekend, Mouser also will hold a Race Day event on Thursday, June 7, where its 900-plus employees will have the chance to win ticket prizes and to personally meet Tony Kanaan and Chinese racing sensation Ho-Pin Tung. Tung drove the No. 88 Mouser IndyCar during the 2011 season.

Engineers are invited to take the Mouser 500 Challenge, a series of three engineering challenges to help find design solutions to various technical problems relating to the high-speed sport of IndyCar.
