Lane Electronics has strengthened its range of connector solutions by signing a franchise agreement with HellermannTyton, a supplier of heat-shrink cable identification, protection and insulation products used throughout the electrical and electronics industries worldwide.

The agreement, which takes immediate effect, covers HellermannTyton’s heat-shrinkable strain-relieving boots, transitions and connector backshell covers, as well as other specialised shapes available in a wide range of sizes and material options. These can be sealed with either hot melt adhesives to meet IP 68 or Epoxy adhesive to provide a structural/chemical resistant bond, to ensure the proper degree of mechanical support, strain relief and environmental protection.

Commenting on Lane’s appointment, Managing Director Simon Hammerton said, “The addition of HellermannTyton’s product ranges to our own portfolio allows us to offer connector solutions that can be fully protected for the environment they operate in and, across our customer base, this can range from general industrial applications to aerospace, military and motorsport.

“HellermannTyton’s heat-shrink products combine the advantages of quick, easy installation with high electric strength, mechanical toughness and superior chemical and environmental resistance. They are the perfect accessory for many of our connector systems” added Hammerton.

Lane can offer all key connector types including circular, filtered, RF, coaxial, sub – miniature, backshells and adaptors, D connectors, aerospace, test & measurement, IDC, PCB connectors, edge connectors and connectors for rack and panel applications.
