Farnell element14 has named Phil Gee as Regional Sales Director for the UK. He has been with the business for three years having previously held roles in sales across Europe.
Gee will be based at the head office in Leeds where he will create a complete multichannel service and sales offering which gets back to basics and places the customer at the heart of the business.
He will be responsible for growing Farnell element14’s key UK region where there are a number of complex customers with high barriers to entry such as the vertical markets of defence, aerospace and medical. Farnell element14’s model enables its value proposition and customer segmentation strategy to support the ever changing demand of the UK market.
Gee has played a primary role in achieving the recent AS9120 certification, the global quality management standard developed by the aerospace industry to address complex traceability and quality needs in distribution.
“Gaining AS9120 certification is just one of a number of improvements and investments we have made in inventory and support in the UK, including offering fully bar-coded product labels and dispatch notes for ease of receipting and retention by customers,” said Gee. “My new role will develop our offering across all the UK markets, expanding our web presence and local support to provide the high-service that our customers expect.”
Significant investment in inventory in the last two years has seen Farnell element14 enhance its ability to support low-to-mid volume customers at every stage of the design process from the prototype stage, through to production.
