Future Electronics has won NIC Components’ 2013 EMEA Design-In Distributor of the Year Award for 2013, the third consecutive year that the distributor has gained the prize.

The award reflects the depth and quality of technical support provided to OEM design engineers who use NIC Components’ broad range of passive components, including power inductors, ferrite beads, capacitors and thick- and thin-film resistors.

Support for new designs is provided both by local field applications engineers in each of Future Electronics’ 44 branches throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and by regional business development managers who specialise in passive, interconnection and electro-mechanical (PIE) products. This support network is backed by Future Electronics’ industry-best inventory policy, which gives customers the easiest availability to stocks of PIE components both for sampling and volume production.

Roger Addison, EMEA Distribution Manager at NIC Components, said: ‘In terms of new design activity, Future Electronics continues to be the most successful distributor for NIC Components in the EMEA region. This is due to the focus it has given to the needs of design engineers who specify capacitors, inductors and resistors.

‘I have been particularly impressed by Future Electronics’ policy of providing technical support across the whole of an OEM’s design, not only for the key semiconductor components. This is backed by the great depth of knowledge and expertise shown by the regional PIE specialists, and also by the ready availability of stocks of thousands of passive parts held at Future Electronics’ regional distribution centre in Leipzig, Germany.’
