Rutronik and FSP Power Solution used last weeks Embedded World show to announce a global distribution agreement.
FSP’s IPC power supply units enable Rutronik to complete its Embedded portfolio. The distributor saysd that it is now able to offer all components for complete, specific embedded systems.
FSP is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high-end power supply units. Rutronik will focus on the solutions for industrial data processing, such as standard PS/2 power supply units, DC/DC converter boards, open-frame power supply units for a wide variety of embedded applications, standard power supply units and desktop power supply units as well as redundant solutions for failsafe systems. FSP has recently significantly expanded its range of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
The distributor sees big demand for these as they have an indispensable role in cloud computing, ensuring that the power supply to industrial computer systems is maintained even in the event of power fluctuations or failure. FSP’s power supply units are primarily targeted at the industrial, medical, digital signage, POS/POI and network appliances markets.
“In FSP we have found a reliable partner, which now also gives us the opportunity to supply our customers with the power supply unit as well as the board, storage and display components. Consequently, they are able to obtain all the system hardware for their specific embedded system from a single source,” explains Frank Bittigkoffer, Director Storage, Displays & Boards at Rutronik.
“Not only does this enable Rutronik customers to reduce their procurements costs, but they also receive a system comprising components perfectly tailored to each other”, he added. “The FSP products are renowned for their OEM quality, no other manufacturer is able to offer such a wide product range at +80°C or more certified power supply units than FSP. This means that they can be perfectly combined with other components from our embedded portfolio to create complete solutions.”
FSP maintains a large warehouse stocked with standard solutions in Germany, from where Rutronik is able to supply its customers quickly and simply for sample orders and small series. Rutronik customers also receive power supply units with specific cable lengths and connectors which have been tailored to their individual systems.
