Farnell has been presented with the European Distributor of the Year Award for 2011 by VARTA Microbattery GmbH, the global manufacturers and designers of rechargeable and primary battery systems. The award, presented to Robert Rospedzihowski, Commercial Sales Director, Farnell Europe, is in recognition of the excellent relationship built over the last year in addition to Farnell’s success in growing customer numbers in targeted focus countries, and increasing sales of VARTA’s battery ranges across Europe.
Farnell stocks over 200 product lines from VARTA’s extensive offering including rechargeable and non-chargeable batteries and cells. VARTA were particularly impressed by Farnell’s new product introduction (NPI) process and service offerings via its leading online community, element14, of which VARTA’s European Distribution Manager / KAM Nordic, Andrew Cranke is an active industry expert who regularly posts and interacts with the element14 community.
“This award is an honour for our team and a great opportunity in the future to drive stronger sales in addition to continuing to enhance our customers’ online experience across Europe,” commented Jo Brook, Product Manager, Batteries, Farnell.
“We would like to congratulate the team at Farnell for this award that recognises several things that Farnell did extremely well throughout 2011,” said Andrew Cranke. “One is the team work required to ensure that they have an up-to-date and innovative battery profile that is always available for sale to their customers. Two is the excellent growth in sales value to those customers. Finally by recognising that a battery is a key design-in product that affects the functionality of the product it is designed into, Farnell sold more batteries to more customers than ever before.”
