onecall, Farnell’s dedicated distribution service to the UK higher education sector and research councils has been awarded a one year extension to its current framework agreement as a preferred supplier of electronic components and associated products. The extension will take the agreement to 31st August 2012.

onecall’s commitment to provide efficiencies for the higher education sector sees it offer ‘one-stop access’ to the Farnell and CPC product ranges. This includes over 560,000 products in stock for next day delivery, plus a further 195,000 products from its new extended ranges. A dedicated onecall website caters for the higher education sector and research councils by offering detailed technical libraries and rapid search facilities, this is backed by sales and support teams with around the clock availability.
In addition, Farnell has also launched the element14 on-campus – an extension to its academic electronic design community on the element14 website giving students free access to its EAGLE PCB design tools and other special offers for students studying electronics or engineering.
“onecall’s establishment resulted from a preferred supplier agreement made with NUWPEC in 1999. Since then, it has provided a unique service to the UK’s Higher Education sector, benefiting Universities and Research Councils with a flexible and speedy delivery process. The extension of our framework with NUWPEC is a testament to our best-in-class distribution and our overall multi-channel approach that has benefited many academic design engineers over the years,” said Howard Peat, Government Business Manager, Farnell UK and CPC.
Martin Williams, Chair NUWPEC said “NUWPEC is delighted to offer this extension to the current contract and believes that it reflects the high service levels offered by onecall. We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with onecall through to August 2012 and considerer the established partnership to be of great value to all parties in the current uncertain climate. NUWPEC and its partners demonstrate how extra value can be obtained by a proper procurement process.”
