Miniature water and dustproof connectors IP67 compliant
Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry’s broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, today announced it has stock on Hirose’s HR30 series of circular connectors.
This range of products, which includes plugs, jacks, and receptacles with solder bucket, crimp or PCB mount contacts, and options for waterproof caps that fit into unmated connectors, is available on Digi-Key’s global websites. Additionally, these products are featured in Digi-Key’s print and online catalogs.
These miniature connectors are IP67 compliant, offering complete protection against dust penetration and water penetration when submerged one meter deep for 30 minutes. A built-in lock/release mechanism secures mated connectors while allowing for quick disconnection by simply pulling on the plug’s release collar. Molded grooves prevent hand slippage when pulled, and the round configuration of the collar allows for easy side-by-side panel mounting. The glass-reinforced thermoplastic compounds and noncorrosive components used in all assemblies make these connectors lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Other features include a built-in cable strain relief, visual alignment indicators, and multiple polarizing keys, which protect the contacts from misalignment or attempted insertion of the wrong connector while assuring correct mating between the corresponding connectors. Applications include test and measurement equipment, portable devices, instrumentation, industrial devices, recreational equipment, I/O applications, and other applications requiring the use of lightweight, corrosion resistant quick mate/release cable connectors.
