Digi-Key has moved into the legacy memory business by signing a global distribution agreement with Alliance Memory.

Alliance Memory manufactures a complete line of SRAMs, including 3.3V and 5V fast asynchronous SRAMs with speeds from 10ns to 20ns; wide voltage low-power devices with densities from 64Kb to 32Mb; 2.5 V and 3.3V ZBT/Sync pipelined burst (SPB)/Sync burst (SB) products; and synchronous DRAMs (SDR) with densities from 16Mb to 512Mb and commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature ranges. In addition we also offer double data rate synchronous DRAMs (SDRAM, DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3) with densities from 64M to 4GB.

“Alliance Memory’s versatile, pin-for-pin compatible legacy memory parts are an excellent solution because they help customers lower costs and eliminate redesigns,” said Mark Zack, Digi-Key’s vice-president for global semiconductor products. “We are pleased to add their rich portfolio of memory options with varying voltages, densities, speeds, and capacities to our line card, giving customers new product design options and flexibility.”

“Digi-Key has earned a global reputation as a strong go-to source for electronic components, and is widely known within the engineering community,” said Dan Gilbert, vice-president of sales at Alliance Memory. “Their excellence in ecommerce along with an unmatched collection of in-stock parts will allow us to pass on a significant value to our customers while enabling us to expand our business into new markets.”
