Vicky Mellor has joined Charcroft Electronics as a Director. The appointment follows on from Charcroft’s acquisition of ICW from Borg Warner in Wrexham.

“This is an exciting time to join Charcroft Electronics,” explains Vicky Mellor. “Despite the challenges posed by Covid, Charcroft has continued to flourish, adapting its operations to ensure that customer service is not compromised. With the recent acquisition of ICW and growing market share in existing sectors, I am looking forward to becoming part of this established and forward thinking business and helping to steer the future direction of its operations.”

Mellor’s career in the IT Professional Services Sector encompasses stints as an Enablement Manager, Account Manager, Project Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Delivery Lead and Resource Manager.

Delivering and managing multi-level, dynamic IT Services solutions has been a key part of working with many high-profile customers.

The blue-chip companies which have enabled her to develop this high-end experience have included Hewlett-Packard, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, DXC Technology and Computacenter.

“To continue to deliver the agility and flexibility that enables us to support customers, Charcroft will use the considerable expertise that Vicky brings to the management team to develop innovative and customer-focused solutions,” comments Debbie Rowland, Director.

“I am excited with this development for Charcroft’s on-going success and Vicky’s active direction of this,” comments Paul Newman, Founder and Managing Director.

The ICW acquisition included ClarityCap audio capacitors which will continue to be manufactured at the Wrexham facility. These capacitors offer values from 10nF to 200µF, with up to 1000µF in a single component.

The ClarityCap capacitors will expand Charcroft’s existing range of UK-manufactured components for the high-end audio market which includes silver mica capacitors and precision resistors.

“The acquisition of ICW and ClarityCap will enable Charcroft to deliver field-based technical support for customers who are looking to achieve high levels of quality,” comments Debbie Rowland, Director, Charcroft. “The ICW capacitors have been used in audio, industrial and military applications for over 30 years and Charcroft has been a franchised distributor for the same period. The focus will also be to ensure that the capacitors will continue to be Made in Britain.”

Specialist manufacturing will enable small batches of ClarityCap capacitors to be manufactured and offer customisation to meet different corporate colours and preferred lead-outs for customers.

Demand from the high-end audio market and partnership with university research teams have been key to the development of ClarityCap capacitors.
