Online Energy RSource Centre launches to keep buildings ‘green & lean’
RS Components, Europe’s leading distributor of electronic, electrical and industrial components, has today launched the RS Energy RSource Centre at rswww.com/energyRSource, offering both expert advice and practical guidance on energy efficiency to buildings services and facilities management professionals.
The ‘one-stop-shop’ RS Energy RSource centre is designed to simplify energy efficiency legislation and help buildings services professionals improve their ability to deliver compliant and lower cost energy efficiency measures with short term returns.
For expert advice and independent information the Energy RSource centre features a complete legislation timeline, ‘Ask the Expert’ request, facts and figures and the option of a full energy survey. And to translate energy strategy into real efficiency returns, the portal also offers practical guidance on which products to specify and install through 3D lighting and facilities walk-through models, a Light Energy Saver calculator tool and a full range of energy efficient products including lighting, heating & plumbing, control & metering, test & measurement, insulation, IT and renewable energy, with many displaying a ‘green pound’ symbol to highlight their energy efficient credentials.
“Energy efficiency is a serious challenge for the buildings services industry as it struggles to reduce cost and comply with complex and extensive legislation,” comments Neil Harrison, marketing development manager at RS Components. “There is a lot of information out there, but finding the right resources and then making the right choices on how to deliver a compliant, energy efficient building solution is a labour-intensive and often, under-researched inefficient process in itself. We’ve launched the Energy RSource centre to bring everything buildings services and FM professionals need to know under one roof to simplify their lives and help them make more informed energy decisions.”
The Energy RSource Centre will be updated with the latest energy efficiency news, legislation and industry information to keep visitors up to date. The portal will also offer case studies and events across the industry to share best practice with other energy efficiency professionals. The website will go live on 26th May 2009 and can be found at rswww.com/energyRSource.
