Aerco, the Horsham-based electrical component distributor, has acquired 100% of Electro Cables, the specialist distributor of wire and cable interconnection products. The purchase is due to the planned retirement of the previous owners of the business.
Based in Nuneaton, Electro Cables was founded by David Hayes in 1983 to meet the need for a specialist, dedicated cable and wire distributor for the growing UK market and has been run since his death in 2006 by his wife Ann Hayes (seen in the picture with Aerco MD Rob Laughton) and Gordon Sears.
A UL registered company that conforms to ISO 9000 quality management standards, Electro Cables is a premier distributor and stockist for Alpha Wire and has a strong reputation for service and high quality. Aerco will integrate the activities of the business with its existing operations over the coming months.
Electro Cables managing director, Ann Hayes, said: “When Gordon and I decided it was time to retire we sought a company that we felt would carry on the programme of work and support of our customers that we have been committed to for over 30 years. After consultation with our leading supplier, Alpha Wire, we decided Aerco was that company and we are delighted that these plans have come to fruition.”

We are totally committed to building on the good work that Electro Cable has carried out over the past three decades.”
