EnOcean GmbH Names Abacus Distributor of the Year 2007
Abacus Group has received the 2007 “Distributor of the Year” award from EnOcean GmbH in recognition of its outstanding performance in marketing self-powered wireless sensors from EnOcean for use in building and industrial applications. Under this new international distributor award initiative, EnOcean’s French distributor Pyrecap also earned the “Shooting Star” award for best performance improvement.
“TDC and other Abacus Group companies are passionate about EnOcean energy harvesting technology owing to its unique battery and maintenance-free implementation,” said Simon Taylor, product manager, TDC. “These features are allowing TDC’s customers to create new and diverse applications adding flexible and intelligent monitoring and control capability where previously inaccessible to wireless technologies.”
Andreas Schneider, EnOcean’s executive VP sales & marketing added, “The EnOcean Distributor of the Year award follows a period of significant growth in Abacus sales of EnOcean’s battery-free radio modules throughout the UK, Italy and the Nordic region. The award reflects a number of key criteria including sales performance, inventory investment, marketing activity, design-in support and quality of information and communication.”
EnOcean’s award programme was introduced to demonstrate the importance of developing strategic relationships with its European network of distributors who are valuable for two strategic phases of business development. Not only do they bring EnOcean’s innovative wireless sensor technology to major international markets through selling modules and offering design-in, but they also conduct large scale projects with OEMs in the fast-growing building automation industry.
The “Distributor of the Year” category is aimed at distributors who are already in Phase 2, and the “Shooting Star” award honours the effort of those distributors who are in Phase 1 and in the process of developing the market for a new, innovative technology.
The award programme provides EnOcean’s distributors with a complete set of services including second-level support by EnOcean Field Application Engineers (FAE) on all enquiries, yearly distribution meetings and FAE training, monthly technology and market updates, assistance with OEM projects and support in developing new markets.
