Rutronik is celebrating 10 years of operations in the UK. From its headquarters in Bolton, the distributor has offered its customers electronic components of all kinds, as well as extensive support and design-in assistance.
Rutronik UK Ltd. was established in 2005 as a subsidiary of broadline distributor Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente. Since then, the number of employees has more than doubled, with the field sales team growing by 20% last year alone.
“We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated FAEs and BDMs that support all of the major technology groups in the UK: Semiconductor, Wireless, Boards, Storage, Displays, Passive and Electromechanical. Especially with our sensor portfolio, we are seeing extraordinary success mainly because we have a world leading line card in this area”, explained Jezel Hardern, Managing Director UK & Ireland. “Not only do we have a sales team in the UK, but we also have a large FAE, BDM and Product Marketing team who are aligned by their technology areas. This resource is available to all our customers, putting us in a good position to grow further in the UK’s presently somewhat weaker market for electronic components.”
Rutronik has also invested in a new sales channel – with Rutronik24, the distributor is addressing businesses with small to medium volume component needs. Its basis is the Rutronik24.com e-commerce platform that gives customers access to the entire range of Rutronik products with over one million items from every product segment.
Intelligent search functions and online tools such as the mass quotation tool simplify and shorten the procurement process. Five UK based employees are also available to support Rutronik24 customers.
Rutronik UK’s largest target markets include automotive, industrial, security and renewable energy markets. An even younger market with strong growth is IoT.
“Although we have been working on some of these applications for some time there is now a brand name attached to them”, added Jezel Hardern.
Rutronik celebrated its 10-year anniversary together with CEO Thomas Rudel, International Sales Director Paul Scholten, Managing Director Marketing Markus Krieg and a number of its key suppliers. At the same time, twelve employees were recognised for their ten years of service to the company. “We are very proud that so many employees were with us from the very first moment. They contributed much of what made us successful”, said Jezel Hardern.
