Richardson RFPD has signed an agreement to distribute Tagore Technology’s portfolio of high-power RF switches to customers worldwide.

“Tagore Technology’s innovative switches can handle high input power the way PIN diode switches do, but with much lower current consumption in a smaller form factor, and they coincide perfectly with our emphasis on offering next-generation solutions,” said Rafael R. Salmi, Richardson RFPD’s president. “Tagore’s products address key complexity, size and power consumption challenges that allow us to better serve our wireless system customers across multiple applications.”

Tagore Technology has developed innovative switch products using proprietary technology that significantly reduces total board area.

These switches handle 1W to 50+W continuous wave (CW) input RF power and operate from 10MHz to 6GHz. They are available in SPDT, SP3T and SP4T configurations. Compared to traditional PIN diode solutions, Tagore’s switches offer lower power consumption, with current draw in microamps instead of milliamps.

These fully-integrated switches operate from 2.7 V and do not require external negative voltages or external passive components. All Tagore products are offered in standard QFN packages, in sizes ranging from 3 x 3mm to 5 x 5mm.

Tagore’s switches are ideal for defence, cellular infrastructure, professional mobile radio, and land mobile radio applications.

“This partnership will further enhance Tagore’s ability for growth, said Klaus Buehring, COO at Tagore Technology. “We will benefit from Richardson RFPD’s established sales and engineering resources, as well as their strong supply channel capabilities.”
