Digi-Key Electronics has surpassed shipping its 50 millionth package in the history of the company.
“Digi-Key has been serving electronic design engineers and ‘Makers’ in our industry before they were even called ‘Makers’ since our very beginning in 1972,” according to Dave Doherty, President. “So recognising this milestone of shipping our 50,000,000th package was something we wanted to celebrate. But we also wanted to recognise our customers who have driven our success; and not just a single customer, because we do business with well over 400,000 different companies each year.”
To this effect Digi-Key has been featuring key customers in regions all around the world. In the UK Surface Technology International (STI) was recently recognised for their role in this unique milestone with the presentation of a “bronze package” award presented to Ben Eastwood, Purchasing Manager and Glen Lilly, Purchasing Team Leader by Ian Wallace, Sales Director, UK/Ireland for Digi-Key.
