Link Microtek is now offering the industry’s smallest 700W Ka-band TWTA (travelling wave tube amplifier), which is designed and manufactured by US company MITEQ.
The MT3300-700Ka unit covers commercial and military Ka-Band frequencies of 28-30GHz for the latest generation of satellites and is housed in the same compact, field-proven package as existing lower-power models in the MT3300 series.
Measuring only 24.4 x 30.0 x 52.1cm, the new TWTA features a rugged construction that makes it well suited to the rigours of outdoor use in satellite uplink applications. It has an operating temperature range of -40 to 60degC.
The TWTA can be configured for both remote and local control, while redundancy can be achieved through the use of 1:1, 1:2 or phase combined systems. Available amplifier options include an L-Band RF input, switchover control, internal linearizer and internal Ethernet interface.
Link Microtek was recently appointed as exclusive representative in the UK and Ireland for the range of satcom products manufactured by MITEQ and its wholly owned subsidiary MCL Inc.
