The free event organised by Motiv8 Forums takes place at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford.
A comprehensive programme of technical presentations and technical workshops will be presented during the day. The morning session will comprise of short technical presentations given by speakers from some of the leading suppliers in the RF, Wireless, LED and Lighting Design markets, headed by the keynote speaker, Shammika Wickramsinghe, Technical Specialist at Jaguar LandRover Group.
Thomas Boethe, Head of Electronic Engineering Industrial Solutions, at Cherry Microswitch will discuss the Challenges facing electronics in the realisation of a wireless energy harvesting switching application.
Embrace the Ripple is the intriguing title for a presentation by Flavio Sestagalli. Technical Marketing – Europe at Coilcraft. He will investigate, with the support of proper tools, the design approach of using a lower inductance solution than the calculated one in a buck converter design, allowing to operate in higher ripple conditions and being in the position to evaluate total losses.
Linear Technology’s Paul Worthington will speak about the Very Latest Bright Ideas in LED Driving and Steve Winder, FAE, Supertex Products at Microchip Technology will discuss Adding Intelligence to LED Drivers.
Technical Workshops take centre stage in the afternoon. Already booked to present are Osram Opto Semiconductors looking at LED Lifetime and Reliability. Wireless Development – Time to take it easy! Is an interactive workshop presented by LPRS Technical Director David Schmider and Electronics Engineer Srikanth Ghanji. This workshop will highlight the benefits of working with Radio modules with embedded intelligence. Schmider and Ghanji will show how simple System on Chip development can really be, and how little software programming knowledge is needed to complete an application and get it to market before the competition. STMicroelectronics, ON Semiconductor, Linear Technology and Microchip will also present workshops on tipics to be announced shortly.
Top names from the electronic components and test and measurement communities will also be on parade at the accompanying bench top exhibition.
