L2Tek has tied up a representation and distribution deal with GEO Semiconductor, a supplier of cutting-edge image and video processing chips.

GEO Semiconductor products include: eWARP, the world’s most advanced geometric processing engine for correcting distortions in ultra-wide angle cameras; sxW2, a highly integrated SOC (system-on-chip) targeted for high-volume 3-channel capture and projection light engine applications; and Realta IC, a highly integrated advanced SoC solution.

Earlier this year, GEO Semiconductor acquired the digital video processing business from Maxim Integrated Products. As a result of the acquisition, GEO’s IP portfolio now totals approximately 100 patents, including world-class H.264 video compression and audio processing technology.

“The addition of GEO Semiconductor to our portfolio is significant news for customers in the professional video and broadcast market,” said Mark Scott-South, Managing Director, L2Tek director. “The company’s innovative video compression technologies deliver ground-breaking solutions. We’re looking forward to helping GEO expand its business and assisting customers to ensure they get the maximum benefit from its innovative products.”

GEO Semiconductor’s main criteria for selecting distribution partners are strong technical competence and in-depth market knowledge. The company recognises that L2Tek has demonstrated great expertise and understanding of the professional video market and has the experience and enthusiasm to take GEO’s industry-leading semiconductor and software systems to market.
