Specialist distributor Charcroft Electronics has acquired Tab Components. The acquisition ensures the continuity of supply for Tab silver mica capacitors by relocating the manufacturing facility to Charcroft’s manufacturing division in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales.

The acquisition was agreed following the retirement of Tab managing director, Allan Forsyth, who will continue to work closely with Charcroft during the transfer of the Tab order-book and to offer specialist advice to existing and new customers.

“Like many of the products in Charcroft’s range, these silver mica capacitors are used in specialist applications and therefore need the support of a distributor who is prepared to offer very high levels of service on relatively low volumes of product,” explains Debbie Rowland, Charcroft sales manager.

Allan Forsyth adds, “I am confident that customers will benefit from the specialist support offered by Charcroft and will continue to receive the personal service and attention to detail which is such a feature of the long-term relationship between Charcroft, Tab and our customers.”

Tab’s dipped and moulded radial silver mica capacitors are designed for applications which need to handle high alternating voltages, high frequencies, high currents or high temperatures. These include audio, professional and military as well as test & measurement equipment and other precision applications.

Charcroft has previously acquired Bowtech Electronics and Ashcroft Ceramic Capacitors as well as the manufacturing rights for a number of obsolete passives and is a Vishay Approved Precision Centre for the manufacture of precision resistors.
Charcroft Electronics is a specialist distributor of passive, power supplies, emech and interconnect products and a manufacturer of precision, legacy and custom passives.
