Literally packed with information, the catalogues are a great help for designers, specifiers and buyers who need to quickly and easily access information about any relay in the vast Hongfa range.

The A4, full colour catalogues are very useful to people working in a wide range of industries and sectors including PCB manufacturers and suppliers, distributors, wholesalers, OEMs, manufacturers, panel builders, and the automotive and aerospace industries.

The five catalogues each cover a specific range of Hongfa relay products namely, general purpose, solid state, automotive, hermetically sealed and relay sockets.

The 376 page general purpose relay catalogue includes the sub-miniature 1A, HF23 relay up to the large 200A HFE6 latching relays. New to the 09 catalogue are the HF115FP with its built in LED and test button, the HF13F now being available in a 3-pole version, the plug-in HF157F relay and the HFE12, 120A latching relay.

The solid state relay catalogue Includes the miniature HFS2 MOS relay up to the large 3 Phase HFS24 SSR and is 88 pages long. New to the 09 catalogue are the HFS32 plug in SSRs and the HFS28 dual AC output relay, together with all of Hongfa’s SSR accessories.

The automotive relay catalogue is 122 pages long and includes PCB and plug in relays, from the popular HFV4 30/40A plug in relay to the miniature twin relay HFKD with two relays in one housing. New to the 09 catalogue are the HFV9, with its extended temperature range of 125degC and the automotive relay modules, available as flasher control, wiper control and delay relays.

The 134 page hermetically sealed relay catalogue includes Hongfa’s TO-5 and half crystal can hermetically sealed relays. New to the 09 catalogue is the Hongfa cube, half cube, 2/5 cube and 1/5 cube relays.
The relay sockets catalogue includes the 6mm wide 41F series socket and the popular 8, 11 and 14 pin plug in relay sockets. New for the 2009 catalogue is the inclusion of the 118F PCB socket for the HF118 power relay. This catalogue is 70 pages long.

Simple to use, the catalogue has a photo of each relay listed. It also shows each relay’s dimensional layout and its footprint. Full technical information is provided including ratings, configuration, voltage, pitch options, and other technical details.

Fully expanded light tower range is versatile for a wide range of applications

Available from specialist distributor Switchtec, Sirena’s expanded TWS range of light towers provide visual indication of the status of a wide variety of process machines, vehicles, lifts and other factory and industrial equipments.

The basic principal of any light tower is to provide a quick visual indication, warning or notification. Most light towers are pre assembled and have to be ordered in the required colour sequence, voltage and illumination type and are manufactured as a complete Item.

Sirena’s TWS family provides flexibility to customers, stockists and distributors by the use of a modular system. The customer simply orders the colours they need, output type (flashing or continuous), the required bulb voltage, then by use of Sirena’s simple assembly mechanism, stack the colour modules in the order required.

This expanded TWS range from Sirena builds on the success of the original TWS that was known for its ease of assembly and flexibility. However its 70mm diameter was often too large for customer’s requirements. Smaller diameter lights towers were available from other manufacturers, but lacked the TWS’s stackable flexibility. So Sirena developed the Mini, Baby, Micro and Nano TWS to address this demand. That’s a total of five ranges with the following diameters: 18, 25, 36, 48 and 70mm.

Showing versatility, all the TWS family are available with the following colour lenses: blue, amber, red, green, yellow and clear (white). All the TWS family are protected to IP65 as standard and carry the CE mark. The TWS (70mm diameter version) also has the combined approval of CUL.

The TWS range uses a variety of bulbs to suit the needs of the end user. Filament bulbs offer a low cost solution, LED bulbs are a simple and competitive LED solution, Xenon bulbs provide a very bright visual notification (flashing only), and integrated LED is the best all round visual output. The Mini TWS, Baby TWS, Micro TWS, and Nano TWS use integrated LEDs only, as due to their compact size, bulbs would be difficult to change and install. The integrated LED is not a bulb, but a cluster of LEDs mounted inside the TWS module. All Sirena LEDs are guaranteed up to 100,000 hours.

Available for all but the Nano TWS is an alarm module that adds the additional audible notification to the light tower. Also available for the TWS and the Mini TWS is a range of mounting brackets, angled wall brackets and extension poles.

TWS light towers are available in 12-48VDC and 24-240VAC supply voltages. The Mini is available in 24VAC/DC, 110VAC and 240VAC. The Baby, Micro, and Nano TWS are available in 24VAC/DC.

The TWS is known for its easy installation and Sirena wanted to ensure that this feature was passed on to the new smaller TWS models. They used the same locking ring assembly mechanism on the Mini TWS as they do on the TWS, which delivers a quick and easy assembly and provides an IP65 rating the beacons. However for the Baby, Micro and Nano, their size limited the use of a locking ring so Sirena developed a unique latching mechanism, which still enables a quick and easy assembly, but enables the Baby, Micro and Nano TWS to retain an IP65 rating.

Automotive relay range is vast for wide range of applications

Specialist distributor Switchtec is offering a range of automotive relays from Hongfa. New cars are using more and more relays to control attractive, ‘value added’ features and functions within the vehicle. This has led to an increase in demand for automotive relays year on year. The total automotive relay output for China for 2007 was 137 million relays, up 15% on 2006. Demand is forecast to increase to 650 million relays by 2010.

Aimed at the automotive Industry, OEMs, equipment manufacturers, and PCB manufacturers/builders, the relays are used in automobiles, mobility vehicles, waste collection vehicles, caravans and trailers, and in motor control applications such as lifts, robotics, and garden machinery.

Ratings wise, the Hongfa automotive relay series ranges from the small PCB relay HFKW rated at 15A up to the large 70A HFV7 panel mount relay.

A technological development achieved by Hongfa is the twin relay. Two relays are packaged in one housing, both with their own coils and contacts. This space saving development enables more relays to be fitted to a PCB, as the relays can be populated closer together, saving valuable PCB space and reducing enclosure sizes and weight, which is a serious consideration in many automotive applications. Hongfa currently has three types of the relay that are also available as a twin relay. These are the HFKA, HFKC and the HFKD.

The latest automotive relay from Hongfa is the HFV9. This is a miniature relay measuring just 25x22x15mm, yet capable of switching 20A. Suitable for PCB or Faston connections, the relay’s compact size and high performance is ideal for automotive applications.

To perform some of the more complex applications within a vehicle, application specific relays are required. These are the Hongfa HF350 relays for flashing control (indicators), wiper control and delaying relay (oil pump).
