In the two years since the Aerco cable and wire division was established, much progress has been made in setting up a powerful range of world-class suppliers that include Habia Cable, Hellermann-Tyton and Alpha Wire.
This, and the heavy investment that Aerco makes in holding extensive stocks of a wide range of wire and cable products, allows many Aerco customers to extend their vendor reduction programmes to wire and cable products.
Aerco achieves this by offering an extensive range of products on no or small MOQs. Under the terms of the Aerco cable supply service, Aerco calculates the annual usage for a customer and holds this quantity in stock at Horsham and supplies products as required in convenient and manageable reel sizes.
Although an authorised distributor for a number of major cable manufacturers, in addition, Aerco’s vastly experienced sales and technical staff can source any type of cable and wire from anywhere in the world to match customers production needs, obtaining equivalent specification products from alternative suppliers if so required to match delivery times.

The 1505 series is a new grip control from Ultra Electronics Measurement Systems (MSI) available in the UK from Aerco. Configurable for single cursor control or with a combination of joysticks and momentary, rocker and rotary switches; the 1505 grip is a compact and comfortable control ideal for many demanding applications.
The most commonly specified component for the 1505 grip is MSI’s miniature force joystick that is ideal for precise thumb control. MSI invented the force joystick using a control technology that provides improved tracking in turbulent environments with fine, reliable motor control by thumb or forefinger while minimising operator fatigue. Also available on the 1505 grip is MSI’s patented Hall-effect mini displacement joystick that offers reliable operation and precise return to zero through its non-contact sensing design.
Stand-alone, fixed, tethered or insulated versions in two- and three-axis controls are available in both right and left hand configurations, a wide variety of styles and ten switch and control configurations.
1505 grip controls are comfortable, have a rugged, cast-aluminium construction and are used extensively in military and aerospace applications for target and optical controls, weaponry and FLIR (forward looking infra red) radar, cursor and unmanned control systems.

Aerco has made a major commitment to the range of Telegärtner coaxial and RF connectors by increasing stock levels at the same time as absorbing a UK price increase.
Alec Sluce, business manager of connector products at Aerco said: “Aerco has been an authorised stocking distributor for Telegärtner since 2002 and despite the fact that there has been a price increase from Telegärtner of around 9% on many products there will be no price increase from Aerco for the foreseeable future. We have a strong demand for these high quality connectors and we are making this initiative to ensure that we maintain the short delivery times and competitive prices that we have always offered.”
Telegärtner is a German company and is long established as a major manufacturer of RF connectors and components for the data and tele-communications industries and Aerco stocks an extensive range of many different types.

Payback achieved within a year
The Marl MR11 and MR16 LED downlights are now available in the UK from Aerco. These new lamps use 80% less electricity than halogen lamps with the same light output for which they are designed to be direct plug-in replacements.
Figures from Marl indicate that replacing standard halogen lights with LED products will show a return on investment within a year when operated for 18-24 hours a day. Once installed they will have an operating life of nearly six years (50,000 hours) continuous illumination.
The Marl MR16 LED downlight will fit directly into all standard MR16 sockets and matches the output of a 35W halogen light but draws just 6W. In most cases it can be powered from the same 12V AC or DC supply. They also emit zero ultraviolet or infrared radiation and are available in warm white or cool white versions.
The Marl MR11 LED is offered in two power levels that produce the light output of a 20W and a 10W halogen respectively but draws less than 2W.
