At the core of the Dispatcher Terminal is Tipro’s robust yet elegant fan-less touchscreen computer, enabling the connection of several data and audio modules in many ergonomic positions. In addition, each module can be used as a standalone unit with a Tipro integrated controller board.

Professional multi-channel audio and data features include: – PushToTalk, PushToMute, hardware side-tones, analogue or digital audio formats, noise gating, limiting and key press coding. Specialist electronic components distributor Advanced Power Components is pleased to announce that Sensirion’s new Nano Flow Sensor for Ultra High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) applications is now available through APC Hero.

Key Features are a pressure rating of 1000bar (15000psi) and a short response time of 30ms. These properties mean that the high-end SLG64-0075 device is especially suited for monitoring dynamic flow rates in cutting-edge chromatography systems. This flow meter (US Pat. 6813944B2), which is based on CMOSens® technology is designed to accurately measure flow rates up to 5 microlitres per minute and features an additional high flow mode for up to 20 microlitres per minute.

A highly sensitive CMOSens® microchip that is mounted on the outside of an internal, straight fused silica capillary (ID 75 um) detects the flow while remaining totally isolated from the media. By using this technology, great repeatability for analysis – the most important criterion in chromatography – is ensured. The fully digital, calibrated liquid flow meter operates with repeatability that is better than 0.6% of the measured value. Moreover, the sensor offers resolutions down to 0.5nl/min and better. The SLG64-0075 is equipped with stainless steel fittings for 1/16” capillaries and an I2C interface for digital communication. An RS485 bus interface is offered as an alternative option.

Advanced Power Components announces that Bluegiga Technologies’ new Bluetooth 4.0 development kit is available through APC Hero. The product is designed for development and evaluation of Bluetooth 4.0 single mode applications and to simplify the development of Bluetooth low energy applications in order to shorten development cycles and time-to-market.

Bluetooth low energy is a new, open standard developed by the Bluetooth SIG. It is targeted to address the needs of modern wireless applications, such as ultra-low power consumption, fast connection times, reliability and security. Bluetooth low energy consumes 10-20 times less power and is ready to transmit data 50 times quicker than classical Bluetooth solutions.

The BLE112 Bluetooth 4.0 single-mode module is targeted for low power sensors and accessories. It offers all Bluetooth 4.0 single-mode features: radio, stack, profiles and application space for end user applications so can therefore be used without an additional micro-controller. BLE112 also provides flexible hardware interfaces to connect sensors, buttons or even displays. Bluegiga BLE112 can be powered directly with a standard 3V coin cell battery or pair of AAA batteries. In lowest power sleep mode it consumes only 400nA and will wake up in few hundred microseconds.

Bluetooth low energy devices come in two types: single-mode devices that only support Bluetooth low energy and are optimized for low-power, low-cost and small-size solutions, or dual-mode devices that support Bluetooth low energy and classical Bluetooth technologies. Dual-mode devices are interoperable with all Bluetooth specification versions.

Bluegiga’s Bluetooth 4.0 software development kit allows in-module software development with Bluegiga’s BGScriptTM scripting language. BGScriptTM enables developers to embed applications directly into the BLE112 module in a matter of hours. Bluegiga’s Profile ToolkitTM on the other hand offers a simple XML based description language for Bluetooth profile development.

Advanced Power Components (‘APC’), the specialist electronics distributor, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded specialist military and aerospace distributor status in the UK by Cinch Connectors Europe (‘Cinch’).

Advanced Power Components (APC), the specialist UK electronic components distributor, is pleased to announce that it has signed a distribution agreement with AVX to distribute its established range of high reliability capacitors including tantalum, ceramic and other advanced devices. The products will be distributed through the APC Hi-Rel unit.

AVX is a leading worldwide manufacturer and supplier of electronic components based in the United States, specialising in the production of parts for the Military, Aerospace, Space and Medical markets qualified to AS9100, IECQ-CECC, TS16949-2002 and ISO9001-2000 standards.
